Certified windows must meet specific performance criteria from the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). Here are the standards by climate zone:
- Northern Zone (Blue): U-Factor ≤ 0.27, SHGC any
- North Central Zone (Yellow): U-Factor ≤ 0.30, SHGC ≤ 0.40
- South Central Zone (Orange): U-Factor ≤ 0.30, SHGC ≤ 0.25
- Southern Zone (Red): U-Factor ≤ 0.40, SHGC ≤ 0.25
